Black Hawk Community College, Kewanee, IL
offers custom application training with a 2 - year agribusiness program. Courses
include chemical application, calibration, integrated pest management, scouting,
weed pressure, and plant diseases. Students prepare for commercial licensing

Central Community College, Hastings, NE
(WilFarm, Zeneca)
Students can complete a diploma after two semesters or an Associate of Applied
Science Degree after four semesters. Local dealerships have been very enthusiastic
about the program. Classes include crop production, application equipment maintenance
and operation, orientation to pesticides, application of chemicals, and introduction
to microcomputers as well as basic chemistry and CPR classes. Students also

Dodge City Community College, Dodge City, KS
Offers custom application training within an Associate of Applied Science Degree
in Farm and Ranch Management. The course curriculum includes an Ag Chemical Lab
where students are taught how to calibrate sprayers and scout fields to identify
specific pest problems. Students also are prepared for commercial certification
from the State Board of Agriculture. Local dealerships, industries and cooperatives

Iowa Western Community College, Council Bluffs, IA
(Growmark, United Ag Suppliers, WilFarm, Zeneca)
offers a one-year diploma, and two-year Applied Science Degree. Provides practical
training in application equipment, soils, farm chemicals, computers, and business

Kirkwood Community College, Cedar Rapids, IA
(Cenex/Land O' Lakes, GROWMARK, Zeneca)
Includes applicator training within its two-year Agri-Marketing Technologies program.
Students earn an AAS degree. The curriculum includes agribusiness, ag-marketing,
soil science, ag-sales, communication skills, human relations, and fertilizer
and chemicals. Students take CCA and CDL exams during training. All students get
a paid internship between the first and second year. Students receive leadership
training as members of the Kirkwood chapter of the National Marketing Association.

Offers a two-year Associate of Applied Science Degree. Training includes: crops,
soils, crop protection products, business management, and computers. Each year
of study includes a Supervised Occupational Experience (SOE) placement. These
SOEs allow students to apply the theory they learned in the classroom to actual

Offers application training with a two-year agribusiness program. Classes includes
soil systems, weed management, sustainable agriculture, and principles of global
positioning systems, and precision agriculture. Students are prepared for professional

offers a 2-year Associate Degree in Agri-Fertilizer Operations. Classes include
crop scouting, fertilizer equipment operation, crop science, agriculture mechanization,
sales, computers, plant operations, soils, and fertilizer. The program is well
funded and incentives for tuition, fees, and books are available. For details

Muscatine Community College, Muscatine, IA
(Cenex/Land O' Lakes, GROWMARK, Pioneer Hybrid International)
Muscatine Community College, Muscatine, IA provides training for an Associate
of Applied Science Degree in Feed and Fertilizer Marketing as well as four distinct
diploma programs including Crop Science and Custom Application. Curriculum includes
instruction for the CCA, CDL, commercial pesticide application, and processional
student organizations. Specific work experiences combine classroom learning

Offers hands-on applicator training within a two-year Agribusiness Management
Degree Program. Advanced courses are offered on soils, floater operation, fertilizers,
agribusiness management, equipment operation, and pest identification and control.

Ridgewater College, Willmar Campus, Willmar, MN
(Cenex/Land O' Lakes, Argiliance, any local Agronomy Center)
Offers the most comprehensive hands-training applicator training in the United
States. A two year program leading to a specialization in Custom Application/Ag
Sales & Service. Students receive training on equipment furnished by Ag
Chem Equipment - 6103 Liquid, 8103 Air Speed, 9103 Soilection, and 1254 RoGator.
Courses include Argibusiness, agronomy, computer applications, precision agriculture,
CDL, PAL, Agrisource, and many more. Each student will receive a scholarship
from their sponsoring Agronomy Center and get a paid internship in October (each
academic year) and April through July between their freshmen and sophomore year.

Concentrates on a "hands-on" approach and offers classes on crops,
soils, fertilizers, equipment operation and maintenance and agribusiness sales
and management. Students learn to operate ultra-modern, high-tech chemical application

State Fair Community College, Sedalia, MO

State Fair offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Custom Applicator
Technology. The program includes classes in chemical and fertilizer equipment,
and application classes. Classes begin each fall and are capped at 16 students
and. Paid internships and scholarships are available. The program is co-sponsored
by MFA, Inc. and FarmLand Industries with his support from MO-AG industries.

Vincennes University, Vincennes, IN

Vincennes offers application specialist pilot program within its Associate Degree
program. The courses sponsored by Countrymark Cooperative and other ag-related
businesses. Classes include sales, management, maintenance of application equipment,
practical training, and computer software. Students also will do practical training
